What a great game of Basketball this was! It had everything you wanted from an entertainment point of view. It was pacey, lively and tense, but at the same time, it was played in very good spirit by both teams with good mutual respect. Although our start was relatively good, we just did not score much in the first quarter and were trailing 10-2. However, we got into our strides and started to put points on the scoreboard. By the start of the last quarter, we were just two points behind. The game was end-to-end and with a fantastic three-pointer from Hayden, we took the lead. We were doing well but unfortunately, we missed some important shots in the last few minutes of the game whereas the opposition made theirs and regained the advantage. We had a final push and tried to get back, but we ran out of time and lost by just three points. However, we looked really good as a team. Our passing and moving of the ball to find an open player was excellent. The boys played very well for one another and it was a joy to referee this match. We had stand-out performances from Hayden and Jonty who had the lion share of the work and scored most of our points too. The result did not go our way this time, but we can be very proud of our performance anyway.
